
On Thursday evening 16 September Floris Kaayk is the guest artist at Upgrade! Eindhoven, where he is interviewed by nobody less than Wiepko Oosterhuis. The location is TAC, Vonderweg 1 Eindhoven, and starts at 19.30 hours.
The first Upgrade! Eindhoven happened in 2008. Upgrade! is a meeting of people who share an interest in art and technology. Upgrade! International is a network of nodes spread over the globe. At Upgrade! Eindhoven meetings people come together to see one or more artists present, and have a discussion.

- Archiveren van publiciteitsuitingen
- Teksten schrijven voor de website
- Meedenken over marketingacties
Voorwaarden
- PR & communicatie ervaring
- Direct beschikbaar, 4 tot 8 uur per week
- Affiniteit met Kunst en Cultuur
- Een werkplek in Eindhoven is beschikbaar
- Vergoeding op basis van ervaring en beschikbaarheid
- Overeenkomst mogelijk op basis van ZZP/ freelance/graduation
Nerdlab is een event waarbij kunst, wetenschap en techniek op ongedwongen wijze samenkomen. Het is een initiatief van CBK ’s-Hertogenbosch, en wordt uitgevoerd door Digitale Werkplaats Den Bosch, Noisivision Breda en MAD emergent art center Eindhoven.
Dit maal is het thema Robotica. We presenteren een dynamisch programma met installaties, demo’s en film waarbij robotica vanuit verschillende invalshoeken wordt belicht, met robot art, robotgames, kinetics, en experimenteel onderzoek.

AIR is the Artist In Residence program for Dutch and foreign artists. The collaboration with research institutes, high tech businesses and institutes makes this and especially interesting environment for talented artists.
Concrete projects are the development of installations and media art for Image Radio and Strijp-S. In 2008, MADlab has moved into a new space at Strijp-S.
The realized installations, applications and experience are shared through exhibitions, publications, workshops and presentations.
Applications for a two-or three-monthly residency must be accompanied by a proposal submitted to MAD emergent art center.

Soft Borders is the 4th Upgrade! International Network Conference and Festival, that will take place in São Paulo city, Brazil, from 18th to 21st/october/2010. The conference will gather artists, curators and researchers from 30 countries to present and discuss the field of new media art, in the international and local contexts, especially in Brazil, the country that is hosting the present edition of the event.

On October 3, 2010 Nerdlab launches a new (sunday afternoon!) event, called robots on tour that will kick off in Breda (Elektron), then October 10 in TAC Eindhoven, October 24 CBK Den Bosch and October 31 Duvelhok Tilburg. This edition of Nerdlab is themed Robotics. We present a dynamic program of installations, performances, demos and video involving robotics from different creative views, with robot art, robot games, kinetics and experimental research.

Living Laboratory
For MAD emergent art center Artist In Residence, Canadian media artist Holly Schmidt is exploring the Strijp–S site as it is being transformed from the Philips Electronics Estates into a Creative City. In order to explore this transformation, she is creating a large-scale architectural model of the NatLab development. Schmidt examines the history of this site as a laboratory for physics research in relation to the current development of the site as a creative laboratory for living and working.

The first digital artwork ever aquired by TU/e, is the videoproduction ‘Eindhoven’ by the Polish/Swedish artist Mateusz Herczka.
Herczka filmed Eindhoven in 2008, as a commission of MAD emergent art centerfor their Image Radio event.

Céline de Waal Malefijt has won the first prize with her idea and prototype of Transit Mantra. The professional jury decided to reward her with the first Brains Award. The development of Transit Mantra is realised during her Artist in Residence period atMAD, Spring 2009.
